“Climate Change,” is this year’s Earth Day theme. There’s so much you can do to help protect and restore our planet, even from a local level!

    Consider:

    1. Signing up for the Naturescaping online course through Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation
    2. Planting a native plant in your garden
    3. Reducing the use of chemicals in your yard
    4. Picking up after your pets and place pet waste into the garbage
    5. Using phosphate-free and biodegradable cleansers or just water
    6. Raking leaves back to prevent catch basins from becoming clogged during storms
    7. Picking up trash
    8. Cleaning driveways and sidewalks with a broom or a leaf blower instead of a hose
    9. Reporting illegal dumping
    10. Recycling or composting your trash

Perhaps the best way to celebrate Earth Day is to commit to appreciating our planet every day of the year. Get outdoors and go for a hike, bicycle ride, a walk with family, and take in the natural beauty that surrounds us. Remember to maintain six-feet of physical distancing from anyone who is not a member of your immediate household.
