Hillsboro City Council to Consider Half-Billion Budget
From an additional forensic tech for the police department to funding for the aquatic center, there's a lot in the Hillsboro city budget.

Two-percent cost of living increases for police and fire employees.
More employees for the library.

These are just some of the highlights of the nearly half a billion dollar budget the Hillsboro City Council will consider when they meet on June 21.
The budget was approved by the city's Budget Committee when they met last month.

"The proposed FY 2016-17 budget provides the financial plan for implementing the goals and priorities established by the Hillsboro City Council for the coming year," City Manager Michael Brown said in a message to the budget committee.
"This budget continues to build on previous successes, and sets a framework to provide resources to maintain and, in some cases, improve the high-quality services that the residents and businesses of Hillsboro have come to expect. "
