Hillsboro Development - City Council Will Discuss Plans for South Hillsboro
City Council meeting will discuss plans to move forward with a plan for South Hillsboro

On Monday, the Hillsboro City Council is expected to take a major step forward toward development in South Hillsboro.
They will be considering a financial plan that will fund development that will hopefully allow them to decrease financial risk to the city and allow them to not increase the property tax of residents.
The city is looking to develop roughly 1,400 acres of open space, farmland, and home sites to help make space for the 20,000 people who are expected to move to Hillsboro over the next 20 years.

"South Hillsboro will be a community that meets the needs of Hillsboro's future while staying firmly rooted in the past, sharply focused on growing a complete, connected, and green community," the city writes on its website.
The City Council, on Monday, will also consider recommendations from the planning commission related to requirements for places that would sell recreational marijuana.
