
A woman has to find another place to stay after a fire left her apartment uninhabitable on Thursday morning,
Hillsboro Fire says they were called to a second floor apartment on the 300 block of Southeast Second Avenue around 9:45.
Workers at the catering company on the first floor noted the fire and called 9-1-1.

The woman who lives in the apartment was not home at the time.
When contacted, she told investigators that she had left about 20 minutes before. She said she had left a new fun running on top of the stove to cool the apartment.

She told investigators that she had not been cooking.
Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
Damage is estimated at $10,000.
