HILLSBORO, OR — A house fire in Hillsboro early Thursday morning has rendered nine people homeless, according to Hillsboro Fire Department officials.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m. July 6, Hillsboro firefighters arrived in the 1100-block of Northeast Cornell Avenue to reportedly find heavy smoke and fire coming from the side of a home, including part of a fence and neighboring shed that had gotten caught up in the conflagration.
All nine residents — seven adults and two children, as well as pets — were home when the fire broke out, officials said, though no injuries were reported. TriMet and the American Red Cross assisted with the family's evacuation and temporary housing, respectively.
