Hillsboro Man Charged with Burglary After Arrest in Landfill

A Hillsboro man is under arrest, charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief after he allegedly broke into a home and fled to a landfill.

Oscar Dorantes-Mondragon was discovered in a home on the 3900 block of Southwest Minter Bridge Road by the homeowner.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says that he then tried to steal the woman's car but she chased him off.

He then fled to the nearby landfill owned by Waste Management.

The sheriff's office says that workers saw him enter a shed where he was trying to seal tools.

They held him down until deputies arrived.

When they got to him, he was wearing clothes they say had been stolen from the house where he was first confronted.
