The only thing is, it's a Boeing 747.
It's Bruce Campbell's home.
He bought the plane in 1999 and has been transforming it into a home ever since, documenting his story on a his website.
"When properly executed the remarkable appeal of a retired jetliner as a home springs from the magnificent technology and beauty of the sculptured structure itself," he writes.
"A jetliner home is a highly refined and beautiful environment with aerospace class strength and endurance - it withstands earthquakes, winds, floods, and other stresses far more capably than most conventional structures. It's truly unique."
Unique, it turns out, to a point.
Campbell has set up a second website to document his efforts to build a second airplane home - outside of Miyazaki, Japan.
"Nothing compares to the exhilaration and satisfaction provided by an aerospace class home, and many people understand this instinctively," he writes.
He would like to buy the very last Nippon 747-400 but it's still flying so he is looking for another plane in the meantime.
