Hillsboro Police Use Spike Strips to Catch Carjacking Suspect
Police say that Alexis Barajas-Alfaro led police on a chase before they caught him.

A man is in jail after Hillsboro Police say that he stole a car and led them on a chase. Alexis Barajas-Alfaro, 21, is charged with robbery, elude, reckless driving, and unlawful use of a vehicle.
Hillsboro Police say they were called to Baseline Road and 8th Avenue around 6:00 Monday night by a 28-year-old woman who said her 2016 Subaru had been stolen.
She told police that as she got in her car, a man had approached her and ordered her to "get out of the car."

The woman did as told and the suspect sped off.
Police spotted him by Cornell Road and Brookwood Street but lost him. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office then spotted him and deployed spike strips to flatten his tires.

He then fled the car but was soon captured.
Police say he did not have a weapon and no one was harmed in the incident.
