Hillsboro Selects 177 Small Businesses For Emergency Grants In March

Second round of grant applications will reopen Tuesday, April 7

Restaurants, retail stores, and day care providers are among the list of 177 Hillsboro small businesses selected during the first round of emergency grant funding applications, which took place on Monday, March 23, and totaled $448,000.

Businesses selected during the first round of applications are not eligible to apply for additional funding when the application process reopens on Tuesday, April 7, from 9 am to 4 pm on the City’s COVID-19 Business Resources webpage: Hillsboro-Oregon.gov/COVID19Business. Businesses that were not selected in the first round can reapply.

Small business owners in Hillsboro are preparing to apply for the second round of emergency support grants totaling $552,000 from the City of Hillsboro. City staff will be available by phone at 503-681-5260, in English and Spanish, to assist business owners and entrepreneurs who need help.

Before small business owners apply, they can read the selection criteria to receive grants of up to $3,000, or up to $1,500 for single employee businesses or sole proprietors. Grant applications are being reviewed by a panel of community partners, including the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, Centro de Prosperidad, and the City of Hillsboro.
