Legendary Hillsboro Track Coach Elden Kellar Dies
Kellar, who coached at Hillsboro High and Glencoe High Schools, had battled Parkinson's.

Elden Kellar was coaching royalty in Oregon.
The long time track coach, who had stints at both Hillsboro High School and Glencoe High School, was indicted into the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2006.
He died last week after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

He was 90-years-old.

He arrived at Hillsboro High School to coach in 1964. After twenty-one years, he went to Glencoe.
His family says that he influenced generations of students, not just athletes.
He coached state champions, Olympic athletes.
His son, Scott, is the boys basketball coach at Century High School.
A track and field event named in his honor, the Elden Kellar Invitational, is scheduled for next Friday at Hare Field in Hillsboro.
Besides his son, Scott, Kellar is survived by four other children - Beth, Bob, Susan, and Bill - four siblings Don, Dale, Vince, and twin sister Elda - as well as 13 grandchildren and four great-grand children.
The family suggests donations be made to the Elden P. Kellar Scholarship Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Hillsboro Branch, 150 S.E. 10th Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123.
