Man Convicted of Sex Abuse Found Dead in Prison
Man who was 76-years-old had been in prison since 2012.
A 76-year-old man in prison since June 2012 when he was convicted of sexual abuse was found dead in his cell Sunday morning.
The Oregon Department of Correction says that Tomas Vejar-Garcia was found by staff at the Two Rivers Correctional Facility in Umatilla Sunday morning.
The department says that Velar-Garcia's death was unexpected and is being investigated by Oregon State Police. OSP investigates all unexpected prison deaths.
