Mom Arrested For Leaving Kids In Park: Washington County Sheriff's Office
Ana Lara, 28, reportedly told deputies she'd left her two kids, ages 3 and 8, for about an hour while she got herself a new tattoo.

CORNELIUS, OR — A Hillsboro woman was arrested Saturday afternoon for leaving her 3-year-old and 8-year-old kids in a Cornelius park so she could get a new tattoo.
Ana Lisa Lara, 28, was taken to the Washington County Jail on charges of criminal mistreatment, recklessly endangering another person, and child neglect. Her two children were reportedly put in the care of a family member. Lara has since posted bail and been released.
Police say a family who used the park's restroom around 5:30 p.m. found the two kids hiding there — frightened, they said, by the rain.

Around 6 p.m., Lara reportedly returned to the park to pick up her kids, which is when she explained to deputies that she was acquiring a new tattoo. Consequently, she was arrested. Washington County Sheriff's spokesman Jeff Talbot said it does not appear Lara offered any justification for leaving her children alone in a public place for roughly an hour.
