Sex Offender On The Loose In Hillsboro, Police Say

Dustin Westling escaped post-prison supervision Thursday by removing his GPS monitoring bracelet, police say. If you see him, call 911 ASAP.

HILLSBORO, OR — A high-risk sex offender absconded from court-ordered community supervision in Washington County Thursday, and now the Washington County Community Corrections Department is asking for the community's help in returning him to custody.

Dustin Westling, 30, is a white male with a bald or shaved head and brown eyes. He is 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds. He was last seen near Southeast 21st Avenue and Southeast Cypress Street in Hillsboro — prior to removing his GPS monitoring bracelet.

If seen, Westling is not to be approached. Instead, police ask that community members call 911 immediately.

Additionally, a warrant has been issued for Westling's arrest, police said.

Westling is currently on post-prison supervision for charges of identity theft and escape. Previously, Westling served time in prison for sex abuse, sodomy, and rape. He also has a history of theft, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, failure to register as a sex offender, improper use of 911, and giving false information to a police officer.

Along with taking off his GPS bracelet, Westling is not allowed to be in places where minors typically congregate, such as schools, playgrounds, libraries, and churches, police said.
