Sheriff's Office Announces Feline Unit (It's April 1st)
"Plan" is to have it operate alongside K9 unit (Again. It is April 1).

In what can only be reported in the context of today's date - April 1st - the Washington County Sheriff's Office announced they are creating a new patrol "Feline Unit."
That's right, cats on patrol.
It would operate alongside the office's existing K9 unit.

"These felines are well equipped to chase suspects into heavily wooded areas, thick vegetation, and up trees, due to their agile movements and ability to navigate small spaces," the office said in a release.
Sheriff Pat Garrett added that it will be cheap to build the unit because they will adopt the members.

The Feline Unit will not be assigned to marine patrols because of their aversion to water and distraction by seafood.
Members will also be subjected to random catnip testing.
Again, it's April 1st and the sheriff's office closed their release wishing everyone a "safe and happy April Fool's Day."
