Two Major Road Projects Begin In Orenco Station
Both projects are expected to improve car, bicycle, and pedestrian commuting through the Orenco Station area.

HILLSBORO, OR — Two major road projects began this week near Orenco Station in Hillsboro: One is an extension of Northeast Cherry Drive to Northeast Ray Circle, and the other will see Northeast Century Boulevard widened between Northeast Campus Court and Northeast Cornell Avenue.
The projects, which began Tuesday, will cause some traffic delays in the area between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. throughout the duration of construction.
The Century Boulevard project — which is meant to widen Northeast Century Boulevard to two lanes, add a northbound right-turn lane, a pedestrian crossing and refuge island, a bike lane, and a sidewalk on the east ride of the boulevard — is scheduled to be completed by the end of October, officials said.

Around the corner, past the Orenco Station Loop, the Cherry Drive project will transform what is currently a cul-de-sac into a through roadway, allowing cars, bicycles and pedestrians to access Northeast Ray Circle from the Southside of Orenco. That project is expected to be completed by September 2018, officials said.
