Two Women Arrested After Report of Mail Theft
The sheriff's office says they had been stealing mail from homes in Aloha. A stolen gun was also recovered.

Two women were arrested Saturday morning by deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office investigating reports of mail being stolen from homes in Aloha. A stolen gun was also recovered.
Deputies had responded to the 16100 block of Southwest Bridle Hills Drive around 10:00 after a man reported two women in a Ford Windstar van stealing mail from a neighbor. He gave the license plate number to the dispatcher.
Around 40 minutes later they spotted the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction from them on Southwest Tualatin Valley Road about Southwest 174th Avenue.

The deputies quickly turned around and performed a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. During their contact with the driver, 33-year-old Heather Lamoreaux and the passenger, 37-year-old Christina Espinoza.
Deputies say neither has a known address.

Deputies also found a loaded "Sig-Sauer P238" .380 caliber handgun in the driver side door. Ms. Espinoza had a knife concealed on her. Both women were arrested.
Deputies discovered stolen mail in the van addressed to 14 individual houses. They were able to contact two of the mail theft victims who said the suspects should not be in possession of their mail. Deputies also found four different Oregon ID cards and nine different credit cards in Ms. Lamoreaux's possession.
On November 27, 2016 in the City of Beaverton, a vehicle and this handgun were reported stolen. The victim's credit card from that case was one of the cards recovered Saturday.
Both women were taken to the Washington County Jail and booked. Ms. Lamoreaux was charged with two counts of Mail Theft, Theft I, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Identity Theft.
Ms. Espinoza was charged with two counts of Mail Theft, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, she is also being held on a probation violation.
This case is still under investigation as investigators are still trying to locate other victims in the case. Additional charges are likely to be filed.
