Washington County Lottery Players Won More Than $600,000 in 2016

Revenue from lottery sales go to fund education, economic development, parks and watershed projects.

The Oregon Lottery would like you to know the story of Patrick Calvin of Hillsboro. Earlier this year, after taking a break from working in the yard, he bought himself a scratch-it ticket because it was green.

He won $50,000.

Lottery officials say he was one of 3,660 people in Washington County who won at least $6-- for a total of nearly $10 million.

"We had some very fun winners from Washington County this year," said Oregon Lottery Winner and Promotion Specialist Pat Johnson. "The Calvins mentioned that their yard was going to get even better with their big win."

Proceeds from Oregon Lottery sales fund education, economic development, parks, and watershed projects.

During the state budget biennium from 2013 to 2015 Oregon Lottery proceeds helped to support more than $54.8 million in projects and programs throughout Washington County. This included $45 million for the seven school districts in the county.
