Woman Charged with Arson in Hillsboro Fire
Home gutted by blaze allegedly set by woman who lived there.
A Hillsboro woman ins under arrest, charged with setting the fire that gutted her home Sunday afternoon. Sara Brown, 30, was arrested soon after the fire was extinguished.
She is charged with arson and is expected to make her first appearance in court on Monday.
Hillsboro Fire responded to the 600 block of SE 20th Court shortly after 2:00 Sunday afternoon. They found heavy fire coming from the lower level of a three-level, wood frame home. Flames had spread to the brush by the home and was threatening other homes and nearby vehicles.

While they were able to stop the fire from spreading, the flames gutted the house, causing about $130,000 in damage.

Brown was the only person living in the home.
There were no injuries.
