• Lake Oswego City Council chooses a new city manager (lakeoswegoreview.com) — Lake Oswego's City Council has unanimously hired Denzel Maxwell, currently assistant city manager in Fort Collins, Colorado, as the city's next city manager starting Oct. 5. After a national search and five finalists, Maxwell was chosen to lead the executive team and carry out council priorities, with local leaders praising his collaborative, service-focused approach.
   

• Stafford Road closures will end in just over a month (lakeoswegoreview.com) — If you rely on Stafford Road, expect major relief soon as Clackamas County plans to reopen the stretch between Rosemont and Childs on Sept. 1 and fully reopen Stafford by Oct. 1. The long-running project adds a new roundabout, realigned intersections, and bike lanes to improve safety, cut congestion, and slow speeding drivers on this key commuter route.
   

• U.S. News high school rankings 2026: Where Oregon schools stand nationally (oregonlive.com) — Lake Oswego families can celebrate that both Lake Oswego High School and Lakeridge High School are among Oregon's top-ranked schools in U.S. News' 2026 list. The story spotlights how these schools compare with other top performers statewide and nationally, based on test scores, graduation rates, and college readiness.
