Body Recovered from Willamette River is Missing West Linn Man

A man pulled from the Willamette River is a man missing from West Linn.

The body of a man pulled from the Willamette river Monday afternoon has been identified as Duane Downs, 64, of West Linn.

Downs was reported missing by his family on Sunday.

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner on Tuesday determined he had drowned.

His body was recovered not far from 11859 Riverwood Road.

A fisherman saw the body and contacted the Lake Oswego Fire Department.

The Fire Department brought the body to Foothills Park where they turned it over to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's River Patrol.

Downs's family said he had last been seen around Noon Sunday.

Police say that Downs walked away with his wallet, cell phone, and car.
