Lake Oswego: Expect Traffic Delays for Two Months Starting Friday

The Southwest Terwilliger Sewer Project will close lanes on Highway 43 for two months beginning Friday, March 31, Portland officials say.

PORTLAND, OR – The Portland Bureau of Environmental Services announced Wednesday upcoming lane restrictions along Highway 43 north of Lake Oswego.

Beginning 10 p.m. Friday, March 31, commuters will see one open lane in each direction at all times along Highway 43 at Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard, near the Willamette River and Lake Oswego’s northside city boundary.

The construction project will see the installation of two manholes and roughly 80 feet of pipe under Highway 43 between Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard and E Avenue.

According to Environmental Services spokeswoman Diane Dulken, the closure is a necessary part of the Southwest Terwillger Sewer Project, which aims to improve wastewater collection in the area and protect water quality, public health, and the environment.
