Lake Oswego HS Seniors Headed to National Championships of Virtual Supreme Court

Two seniors will compete in the finals of the the Harlan Institute-ConScource Virtual Supreme Court Competition in Philadelphia next week.

Laren Anderson and Kelsey Talbot - seniors at Lake Oswego High School - are headed to Philadelphia.

The seniors are one of two teams picked for the finals of the Harlan Institute-ConScource Virtual Supreme Court Competition.

It's the competition's fourth years and it gives high school students a chance to argue a real case as if they were arguing before the Supreme Court.

The case is Fisher v. taxes, which deals with the constitutionality of affirmative action in college admissions.

To get this far they had to put together a brief that they recorded and placed on YouTube.

They then argued against another team.

The two will be in Philadelphia for the finals on April 13 facing off against a team from a private school in Texas.
