Lake Oswego Speed Enforcement Coming Thursday

Police will be posted by Lake Oswego Junior High School and Lake Oswego High School

You should always obey the law when it comes to driving by schools (well, really, obey the law always).

But penny-pinchers might want to take extra care Thursday morning when the Lake Oswego Police Department undertakes a speed enforcement action.

From 7:15AM to 8:30AM, officers will be on Country Club Road in the school zone by Lake Oswego Junior High School and Lake Oswego Zone.

The area will be marked by flashing yellow lights and signs reminding people that fines are increased in a school zone.

That means speeding could cost you up to $320.

This is the fourth enforcement action since the department received a grant to pay for overtime to enforce speeds in school zones.

More actions in other school zones are planned for later this year.
