Oak Creek Kindergartners Moving to Lake Grove in the Fall

Board sees move as a way to ease overcrowding, avoid problems down the road.

Three kindergarten classes from Oak Creek Elementary School are being shifted to Lake Grove Elementary this fall, the Lake Oswego School District announced this week.

The move, opposed by some parents as disruptive, is necessary to ease overcrowding and avoid problems down the road, officials said.

The district, recognizing that many parents take advantage of before and after school problems at Oak Creek, says that parents will still be able to have their kids in those programs - the district will bus them to and from Lake Grove for classes.
