Portland Robbery Suspect Leads Officers on Chase, Fires at Them
Suspect was shot by officers and is in custody. No officers were injured.

Police say that a man robbed the Aladdin Inn in Southwest Portland Tuesday morning and then led police on a series of chases through Portland, Tigard, and Tualatin before it finally ended in Lake Oswego with the man - who had fired numerous times at police - being shot and arrested.
It started just before 10:30 when Portland Police received a call that there had been a robbery at the Aladdin Inn and the suspect fled in a white van. The man was then spotted at the Shell Gas Station on Pacific Highway near 69th Avenue in Tigard.
Officers from Portland and Tigard tried to stop the vehicle as it left the gas station but the man would not stop. Police say he then led them on a maze of routes through Tigard, Tualatin, and Lake Oswego. During the chase, the man continued to fire shots at police who were in pursuit, say police.

The man finally stopped the vehicle and fled, carrying weapons. Several Tigard officers continued the chase on foot. During that time, a Tigard officer shot the suspect who was then transported to Oregon Health Sciences University hospital.
Meanwhile, other officers searched the white van the man had been driving and discovered an adult woman and three children. None had been harmed.
