• Jefferson County Sheriff log: Underage DUII arrest made (madraspioneer.com) — Recent Jefferson County Sheriff's Office calls included several incidents in Madras, from a disturbance assist with Madras Police to a traffic stop for a suspended, uninsured driver and a criminal mischief report in southwest Madras. Deputies also arrested a 19-year-old Madras resident on suspicion of DUII after a Highway 97 stop, alongside other countywide arrests.
   

• Lack of carnival, summer fires led 2026 Jefferson County Fair to lose $14k (madraspioneer.com) — Jefferson County's 2026 fair and rodeo ended nearly $14,000 in the red, after wildfire smoke, road closures, and a canceled carnival sharply cut attendance. Fair leaders, meeting at county offices on SE D Street in Madras, say they've learned from the challenges, are canceling one bull-riding event, and are already planning a bigger 2027 fair with the carnival returning.
   

• From the 960 Sports Desk – 9/28/26 (mybasin.com) — High school sports fans will see Madras featured this week as the Klamath Union Pelicans, now 4-0, open league football play against the White Buffaloes. The roundup also highlights dominant wins by Henley and Mazama, plus upcoming volleyball and soccer matchups across southern Oregon, giving Madras supporters a sense of how their next opponent is performing.
