• Central Oregon Coast's Siuslaw Forestlands Will Begin Seeing Pile-Burning (beachconnection.net) — If you see smoke in the hills above Nehalem this fall, it may be from planned pile-burning in Siuslaw National Forest lands surrounding local coastal towns. Fire crews will only burn when conditions are safe, stay on site to monitor flames, and don't expect to close nearby areas, but residents are urged to watch for smoke and check forest alerts.
