From Clackamas Federal Credit Union: This year Clackamas Federal Credit Union celebrated its 60th year of service for the people of Clackamas County.

Along with celebratory events came evidence of commitment to the surrounding community by way of a $10,000 donation to Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council, a $10,000 donation to Clackamas Service Center, and donations to the following Clackamas County organizations:

"In addition to helping members achieve their financial goals, Clackamas is passionate about the overall well-being of the people who live in the areas we serve," said Clackamas CEO Mary Greco.

Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council will use the donated funds to purchase new equipment that will boost their response capabilities and expand their training resources, translating into faster, more thorough coverage of search areas.

This is the fifth annual donation from Clackamas to Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council for a total of $50,000 dollars.

Sherri Magdlen, Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council fundraising manager, said "Clackamas Federal Credit Union is such a godsend. We don't receive any government funding and the generosity of Clackamas helps us save lives."

Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council coordinates and improves search and rescue missions in the region.

In addition to risking their lives, their volunteers give thousands of hours of time (often using personal vacation time), purchase their own equipment, and pay for their own gas and vehicles used for rescue missions.

Without government funding, Mt. Hood Search and Rescue Council relies on the generosity of its volunteers and private donations.

Clackamas Service Center is using the donated funds to help provide approximately 3,000 meals to the roughly 600 households that they help each month. This donation will also play a part in providing around 300 hot showers to community members in need.

Beyond our financial support, credit union employees regularly volunteer at Clackamas Service Center and several branches collect food, clothing, and toiletries donated directly from Clackamas members.

For several years the credit union has been volunteering and giving donations to Clackamas Service Center.

Clackamas is proud to support their members and the people of Clackamas County. These donations are one of the many ways the credit union gives back to the community it is proud to be a part of.
