After Car Chase, Deputies Arrest Man With History Of Fleeing Police
Adam Torney, 35, was arrested Saturday in East Clackamas County after trying to hide from officers in the woods near Dodge, police said.

COLTON, OR — After a car chase across East Clackamas County on Saturday, Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man with a long criminal history of running from police.
Adam Carlyle Torney, 35, was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on several charges, including eluding a police officer, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine. His bail is set at $75,000.
According to sheriff's officials, deputies attempted to stop Torney's white GMC SUV after reportedly observing him make traffic violations in the 23700-block of South Highway 211 around 1:30 p.m. July 8. Torney, however, chose not to stop and instead led police on a 5-mile chase east of Colton, near Dodge, where he eventually stopped his GMC on a logging road near South Horner Road and South Hillockburn Road.

Fleeing on foot, Torney reportedly disappeared into the woods along with his passenger.
Deputies learned Torney "was likely armed with a firearm," so they secured a perimeter around the area where Torney was last seen running and deployed Oregon City Police K9 Mac to go search for him.
