• Man locked up for throwing rocks at geese, pulling knife on swimmers at Oregon park (kptv.com) — A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to 35 months in prison after throwing rocks at geese and cold-plunge swimmers, then threatening a swimmer with a knife at Riverside Park along the Clackamas River in Oregon City. Prosecutors say the confrontation escalated until a swimmer displayed a handgun and deputies later arrested the man at another nearby river park.
• Lake Oswego volleyball sails to 'W' in Battle of the Lake (lakeoswegoreview.com) — Lake Oswego's volleyball team edged rival Lakeridge in a five-set thriller and now heads into the Oregon City tournament this Saturday, Sept. 19, with a four-match winning streak. For Oregon City fans, it's a chance to see a confident Lakers squad and other regional powers in action early in league play, with first serve at 8 a.m. at the local tournament.
• Forget a camera. This artist paints Portland's live events as they happen (hereisoregon.com) — An artist known as Slow Camera Paparazzi has been quietly turning moments at Oregon City Pride and other Portland-area events into vivid oil paintings created live on the spot. At last month's Oregon City celebration, he captured Ballet Folklórico Alma Mestiza's dancers in motion, then surprised them by gifting the finished vinyl-record painting, part of his mission to document local performances in real time.
