Man Wanted in Connection with Murder of Oregon City-Tied Couple Headed Back to Washington

Tony Reed, who was arrested crossing into the United States from Mexico, waived extradition.

One of two brothers wanted in connection with the murder of an Oregon City-tied couple will be sent back to Washington to face charges.

Tony Clyde Reed, who was arrested Monday crossing the border from Mexico into the United States, waived extradition at a hearing in San Diego.

He was arrested there after arranging to be met at the border and take into custody, police say.

Two detectives from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office will travel to California to bring him back.

Reed and his brother, John Blaine Reed, are charged with the April murder of Oregon City native Patrick Shunn and his wife, Monique Patenaude.

John Reed is believed to still be at large in Mexico.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says that Tony helped his brother murder the couple who lived next to John and had been involved in a dispute with them.
