Babysitter Found Guilty of Murder of Infant

Isaak Gillen died after being hospitalized. He was found to have a fractured skull.

Elizabeth Martin was found guilty of murdering a seven-month old she was caring for.

The judge in the case found that the evidence demonstrated "beyond any shadow of a doubt" that she had killed Isaak Gillen.

Martin was watching Gillen in April 2015 when he stopped breathing.

He was taken to the hospital where he died the next day.

The medical examiner found that his skull had been fractured.

Martin had met the child's parents at Grand View Baptist Church in Oregon City and had been babysitting for them since December 2014.

Martin's lawyers maintained that the child choked on a Gerber puff, a food that is supposed to dissolve in the mouth.

She will be sentenced on May 17.
