Babysitter Who Murdered Baby Gets Life in Prison

A babysitter who killed a baby in her care last year was sentence Tuesday to life behind bars.

Sarah Martin, of Oregon City, was found guilty earlier this month of murdering Izaak Gillen.

She was caring for Gillen in April 2015 when he became unresponsive. He was rushed to a hospital where he died the next day.

Martin had maintained that Gillen had choked on a snack she had fed him.

The medical examiner testified that boy had suffered severe head injuries.
