Brush Fires Temporarily Close Highway 213 Wednesday Afternoon
A dragging muffler caused roughly five brush fires along Highway 213 Wednesday, Clackamas Fire officials said Thursday.

OREGON CITY, OR — County officials on Wednesday closed Highway 213 between South Redland Road and South Beavercreek Road east of Oregon City due to several brush fires. On Thursday fire officials announced the fires were caused by a car that was dragging its muffler.
First reported around 1 p.m., Clackamas Fire District #1 crews arrived on-scene to find approximately five grass fires burning along the highway. Callers to Clackamas Communications 911 told dispatchers that both a car that was on fire had started the fires and that a person seen walking along the highway was setting the fires.
