City Grant Will Help House Be Turned into Retail or Office Space

The house, dating to 1867, has long been empty. A grant will help give it new life.

The Oregon City Urban Renewal Commission will help a house from 1867 be renovated into either office or retail space.

The owner, David Gackle, will receive nearly $100,000 in urban renewal funds to do work on the George Clark House, named for an English immigrant.

The house, at 216 14th Street, has been beset by problems including squatters and rodents.
