Clackamas County Election Results 2017

A bond for Portland Community College and an annexation in Happy Valley are the big items on the ballot this election cycle.

Clackamas County votes Nov. 7, 2017:

Portland Community College β€” Measure 26-196:

8:15 p.m.: 8,856 votes

  • 60 percent 'Yes'
  • 39 percent 'No'

10:30 p.m.: 9,904 votes

  • 61 percent 'Yes'
  • 38 percent 'No'

Portland Community College officials have asked for the county to maintain the current tax rate of 40-cents per $1,000 of assessed value by issuing $185 million in bonds to construct job training space, improve and enhance classroom spaces, improve student safety, and enhance available technology at the school.

If approved, the state would match $8 million to absorb costs to taxpayers.

8:15 p.m.: 2,825 votes

  • 40 percent 'Yes'
  • 59 percent 'No'

10:30 p.m.: 3,187 votes

  • 39 percent 'Yes'
  • 60 percent 'No'

With voter approval, Happy Valley city officials will annex into the city 12.33 acres of what is currently private property. The land, if annexed, will be used as mixed use commercial, but will be specifically limited to an assisted living facility or senior housing development β€” which would also have specific regulations put in place.

The property is located near the northwest corner of the Johnson Creek Boulevard and Bristol Park Drive intersection.
