"It's a rare feat for a sheriff's office K9 to get that number of captures in such a short time frame," said Boone, who has been working with K9s for roughly 20 years. "For Spencer and I, that was a new record –– three in 90 minutes."

The hour and a half whirlwind of arrests began around 10:30 a.m. Mar. 19, according to CCSO spokesman Sgt. Brian Jensen.

After allegedly stealing a vehicle, 21-year-old transient Austin J. Kollas reportedly led deputies on a short chase, first in a car then on foot. Nearing the Winco at 11250 S.E. 82nd Ave. in Happy Valley, Kollas was captured in the Winco parking lot while trying to outrun deputies, Jensen said.

Just over an hour later, at 11:35 a.m., Spencer helped Gladstone police track and find 41-year-old Timothy C. Elmore, a transient wanted for alleged parole violations, while he was reportedly hiding in a trailer at the Gladstone Mobile Home Park on River Road.

Nine minutes after that arrest, at 11:44 a.m., Spencer captured Lonnette M. Denison of Oregon City, Jensen said.

Denison, 36, reportedly had warrants on a range of charges, including theft and possession of methamphetamines. Spencer found Denison hiding in a thick holly bush, Jensen said.

"(Spencer's) nearly 10 years old, but he's still doing it," Boone said. "He loves his job."
