Clackamas County Lottery Players Won Nearly $11 Million in Prizes in 2016
Revenue from lottery sales go to fund education, economic development, parks and watershed projects.
The Oregon Lottery is holding up Shane Anderson as an example of the good that comes from the lottery. He won $11,000 on a scratch-it ticket he bought at the coast in March.
Anderson was one of 3,710 residents of Clackamas County who won $600 or more for a total of more than $10.8 million in 2016. More than $2,4 million of that came from 29 winning scratch-its.
"In most counties Video Lottery winners take home the most money, with Keno being second," said Patrick Johnson, Winner and Promotion Specialist with the Oregon Lottery. "However, Clackamas County had a very good year when it comes to Scratch-Its."
