Clackamas County Marijuana: Voters to Consider Sales Tax in November
Board of Commissioners approve putting measure on the ballot.

It's not that the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners wants to harsh your buzz.
It's just that they see a chance to help fill county coffers.
The Board of Commissioners voted this week to out a measure on the ballot in November that would create a three percent sales tax on the sale of marijuana items.

The tax would be on top of the 17 percent sales tax already in place.

If the voters approve it, it will go into effect on January 1st, 2017.

It's not the only ballot measure that will affect the wallets of voters.
Last month, the county also approved a measure that would create a six cents per gallon gas tax to help pay to repair roads in the county.
Clackamas County has some 1,400 miles of roads - more than half of which are in fair to poor condition.
