Clackamas County Roads: Support Exists for Vehicle Registration Fee for Road Repairs
Survey done for the Clackamas County shows support for the fee but not strong support.

A new survey presented to the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners shows a majority of the county supports using a vehicle registration fee to pay for repairs to the county's roads.
The county maintains 1,400 miles of roads, most of which are considered to be in fair or poor condition.
The Board of Commissioners is putting the question of whether county residents want to pay for road repair on the ballot.

The question in May asks whether the county should pursue a funding option for road repair without mentioning what the source of funding would be.
If a majority approves of the question, the county will develop a plan to be presented on the November ballot.
