Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation Makes Two Donations in April
The Children's Center and Rowe Middle School both received checks from the Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation April 14.

OREGON CITY, OR – Two Clackamas County programs received help from donations made by the Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation last week, Clackamas Fire officials announced Thursday.
The Children's Center in Oregon City and Rowe Middle School in Milwaukie both received checks from Clackamas Fire District #1 Chief Fred Charlton and Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation President Don Trotter April 14.
The Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation "has been a critical partner in our intervention and prevention efforts for more than 12 years," Tom Soma, the Children's Center executive director, said in a statement. "The Foundation's gifts –– which now surpass $50,000 –– have helped to ensure the prospect of healing for hundreds of children whose lives depend on it. On behalf of all these children, we are deeply grateful."

The Children's Center, a nonprofit child abuse intervention agency in Clackamas County, received $5,000 to assist with its support efforts to medically assess child victims of abuse or neglect.
"To victims, (the) Children's Center offers comfort, care, and hope," Soma said. "To the community, we convey confidence that this serious challenge won't be ignored."

A second donation of $4,000 went to Rowe Middle School's Food for Success program, which provides free, nutritious snacks to more than 600 middle school students each school day afternoon. Started in 2011 by Rowe Middle School social worker Evan King, the program aims to support its students' learning by eliminating hunger during the school day.
"It is an honor to be able to support these two programs that are focusing on the well-being of children within our community," Charlton said.
