Clackamas Roads: County Seeks Public Comment on Funding Changes

With one project coming in under budget, the county is looking to shift the remaining funds.

Some time projects actually come in under budget. And when that happens with a county transportation project, there's a process involved with figuring out what to do with the remaining money.

That's what Clackamas County and Metro are going through.

They had received funding for four roads projects from the federal government:

  • SE 172nd Avenue planning (Foster Road to Sunnyside Road)
  • SE 122nd Avenue and 132nd Avenue (sidewalk connections)
  • Sunnyside Road (adaptive signal system)
  • Jennings Avenue (sidewalks and bike lanes from OR 99E to Oatfield Road)

As it turns out, the SE 172nd planning project is done and came in under budget. So, the county wants to take the remaining money and redistribute it to the other three projects.

Public comment is invited until February 2.
