Suspect Who Shot Clackamas Deputy Identified

A Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning while making a traffic stop early Tuesday morning. The deputy is expected to be okay and the suspect is in custody.
The shooter is 40-year-old Steven Wilson of Portland. He was injured in the incident and is being treated at OHSU. It has not been disclosed how he was injured or what condition he in.
The incident happened just before 6:30 by the intersection of Southeast 139th and Sunnyside Road. The area was shut down for several hours.

The deputy, who had been patrolling Happy Valley, was responding to a call of a pedestrian having been struck by a car. He arrived, saw a man - later identified as Wilson - sitting along the side of the road. When he approached Wilson, the deputy was shot.
A passerby along with a person who had been riding along with the deputy came to his aid.
