Brothers Sought in Connection with Murder of Couple with Oregon City Ties

A couple with ties to Oregon City have not been seen since Monday and the sheriff's office believes they were murdered.

Patrick Shunn was last seen at work on Monday. He did not show up Tuesday or call in. His wife, Monique Patenaude, was also last seen on Monday.

Their bodies have not been recovered but the sheriff's office has found evidence indicating they were murdered.

They also want to talk to two brothers in connection with the murders.

The sheriff's office put out an alert for 53-year-old John Blaine Reed and his 49-year-old brother, Tony.

John lived next to the couple. Both are convicted felons and are believed to be armed and dangerous,

"The recovery of Patrick and Monique is our agency’s number one priority right now, for the sake of their families," said Sheriff Ty Ternary.

"Our second priority is getting the Reed brothers into custody and off the streets."

Investigators recovered a vehicle in Ellensburh, WA. on Saturday.

Shunn's brother wrote on Facebook that for his brother to suddenly disappear "is very uncharacteristic of him. Pat and Monique have pets and livestock and they haven't been taken care of the last day and a half."

Shunn and Patenaude have been involved in a legal dispute with neighbors who have been allegedly trespassing on the couple's property.

Shunn's brother wrote that one of the neighbors "is not a good guy."

Late Thursday, the cars were reportedly found in a heavily wooded area near Oso, Washington. They were at the bottom of an embankment.

Detectives have confirmed that the Reed brothers are in possession of a red 2007 Volkswagen EOS Coupes, Washington plates AXH5106, a vehicle that belongs to their parents.

John Reed is 5’08”, 190 lbs. with hazel eyes and gray hair. Tony Reed is 5’11”, 150 lbs. with green eyes and gray hair.
