
A deputy with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office saved a man's life on Thursday when she pulled hm from a crash and performed CPR. It happened on the 17000 block of Southeast 82nd Drive.
Deputy Jodi Westerman, who is assigned to the Traffic Unit, arrived around 4:16 in the afternoon, arrived to find that a 60-year-old man driving a 2004 Nissan pickup had suffered a medical emergency and crashed into a 2002 Hyundai.
The Hyundai's driver was not injured but the man driving the Nissan was unconscious and not breathing.

Westerman dragged the man from the truck and gave him CPR. She then grabbed the Automated External Defibrillator from her car and used it. Within four minutes, the AED had helped the man's heart start beating again.
She kept working until paramedics arrived.

The man was taken to a hospital where as 5:00 p.m. he was conscious and alert.
