OREGON CITY, OR — Oregon State Police reported a fatal traffic accident involving a motorcycle on Highway 99 in Oregon City Tuesday morning.
Around 8 a.m. May 23, Oregon City resident Johnnie O. Bennett, 56, stopped his motorcycle in traffic near Paquet Street, police said. Approaching the line of cars from behind Bennett was Michelle Higgins, 40, also of Oregon City.
As Higgins neared the traffic in her 2009 Audi, she failed to see the line of stopped cars, police said, and subsequently rear-ended Bennett, killing him. Other vehicles were damaged, but neither Higgins nor the operators of those vehicles were injured in the crash
