Man Charged With Killing Couple Tied to Oregon City Busted in Mexico

The man charged with killing a couple with ties to Oregon City has been captured in Mexico.
John Reed, who fled there after allegedly killing Oregon City native Patrick Shunn and his wife Monique Patenaude, was sent to Arizona Friday.
He now awaits extradition to Washington to face murder charges.

Officials say that Reed shot Shunn and Patenaude in April and then buried their bodies with the help of his brother, Tony.
The two then fled to Mexico with the assistance of their parents.

Tony, who had faced murder charges, turned himself in and has since pleaded guilty to rendering criminal assistance.
He led authorities to the bodies and investigators determined that he was not involved in the actual murders.
The Reed's parents are also charged with rendering criminal assistance.
