Man Seen Trying to Open Safe in Public Charged with Stealing Safe

Just before Noon on Thursday, a couple of employees of the Clackamas County Justice Court were by the bike path by Clackamas Town Center and saw a man trying to open a safe.

They thought it was suspicious.

They contacted a sheriff's deputy.

He found the man. He was breaking into a safe.

Turned out the safe had been stolen the night before from the Oregon City Preschool.

The man trying to break into the safe, Darryl Aaron Tasco, was arrested.

He's charged with burglary and theft. He's also being held on a fugitive warrant.
