Marshals Hunt Fugitive with Ties to Oregon

They call him "Zombie Mike" because of his poor hygiene.

The U.S. Marshals Service has put out an alert for an accused rapist who allegedly sexually abused a wheelchair-bound victim while her loved ones slept just feet away.

The victim, who is also mentally challenged, reported the attack the next day. Hawkins was charged but managed to avoid arrest.

The following year, he allegedly sexually the wife of a friend of his. He was again charged with rape and again managed to avoid arrest.

While the attacks that Michael Hawkins is allegedly responsible for happened in upstate New York, the Marshals say that he has ties to Oregon.

The Marshals Service say that Hawkins is called "Zombie Mike" by his friends because of his poor hygiene.

“Predators like Michael Hawkins who prey on helpless victims must be brought to justice,” said U.S. Marshal David McNulty of the Northern District of New York. “We, along with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners, are determined to make sure he’s held accountable, but we need the public’s help.”

Hawkins is 25-years-ols, 5-foot, 9-inches tall, and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
