Missing Hunter Found Alive Northwest Of Hideaway Lake
Nicholas Benim was last seen Sunday night when he left his hunting group outside Estacada. He was found Nov. 1.

ESTACADA, OR — The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday announced the recovery of Nicholas Benim, the 34-year-old hunter from Molalla who was separated from his hunting group Sunday near Hideaway Lake in rural Clackamas County.
Benim was last seen around 5 p.m. Oct. 29 and was expected to return a few hours later. It's unclear at this time what exactly happened, but Forest Service employees found Benim on National Forest road 4611, northwest of Hideaway Lake, on Wednesday afternoon.
Benim spent three nights alone in the woods wearing a bright orange jacket and tan Carhartt-style trousers, police said. He was reportedly found in "OK" condition.

Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, the U.S. Forest Service, Mountain Wave Communications, and Mountain Wave Canine were all called out to assist with the search.
